As christians, it is comforting to know that God abides with us always. The scripture is replace with evidence of Gods presence with his people. from the very beginning of creation, God has always desired to have a communion with man whom He uniquely created in His own image. His plans is to have a continuous, intimate relationship with mankind. That was why in Genesis 3:8, God descended in His glory to be with Adam and Eve, for ” they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.”

In the time of Moses, God assured him that ” My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest” Exodus 33:14. this was a promise made by God who cannot lie and He fulfil this promise made to Moses and the Israelites. He literally accompanied the Israelites in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide and lead then in the day. Exodus 13:21.

The New testament, the scripture expressly says that “the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14. Notice that God came down in human form and dwelt among us. In the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, God took on human nature and lived among men, giving them the full opportunity of being familiarly acquainted with him. Not only that, when the Lord Jesus was about to conclude his earthly ministry, He promised His disciples of another comforter who would “abide with them forever” John 14:16. All these are proof that God, in His faithfulness and love towards us, never wants us to walk this earth alone. He doesn’t want us to face the vicissitudes of life all by ourselves. He knows that only in his presence are we safe and secured.
